Mask of the Week: Andy Bray
This week’s award is proudly handed out to Andy Bray, a member of the Bowling Green State University Falcons ACHA D-II hockey team.
Painted by one of our close mask artist comrades, Jim Keserich from Taylor-Made Graphics, this Masked Marvel helmet includes a great rendition of the Falcons logo on either side, the “BG” insignia across the top and “Bray” across the chin drop.
To give goaltenders an inside look at the mask’s design process, below is a shot of the concept art before it was applied to the mask. The artwork is provided by Keserich and the template is downloaded directly from Masked Marvel’s website:

As you can see, Keserich did an excellent job of bringing the Falcon to life in a sharp and clearly defined manner that brings out fierce and piercing eyes of such a graceful creature. The end result was another quality finished product for a quality ACHA goaltender.
Both Taylor-Made Graphics and Masked Marvel goalie helmets are proud sponsors of The Goalie Guild’s first-ever Medieval Mask Design Contest. There’s still six weeks left in the competition, so be sure to check out the details and send in your entries before the December 31 deadline!

A father’s pride is unwavering and the act of raising children is considered an honor. Reflecting that love and passion on a goalie mask is a memorable pastime for paternal puck-stoppers, so to honor dads everywhere for Father’s Day, we nominate Tate Schneider’s new Pro’s Choice helmet as Mask of the Week! The design, which was painted by Don McClelland at MacMasks, reflects Tate’s avid passion for reading

Ahh, it’s good to be back, everyone! The NHL season might be over, but the goaltending coverage and analysis never ends inside the Guild. While we were soaking in the sunrays during our week-long vacation in Costa Rica, an e-mail popped up from a goalie named Nick DiFalco. His new Hackva mask had just received new paint by Don

With only 11 days left until our Medieval Mask Design Contest II ends, we continue to promote the latest entries by nominating CJ Latham’s design for Mask of the Week! When it comes to a theme that incorporates a Crown, Latham totally nailed it. He took advantage of the 500-word limit for the essay portion of his entry,

Whether we choose to admit it or not, there’s a Star Wars fan lurking somewhere deep inside the chasms of most everyone’s soul. And you know what? That’s quite alright, because it’s easily one of the most epic stories of all time. Therefore we chose to pay homage to the everlasting intergalactic saga with the latest mask from Pain Inc.

Virginia-based goalie Mike Clagett sent us a message on GoalieStore BB yesterday about his wicked World of Warcraft mask that was recently completed by our friend Don McClelland over at MACMASKS. One look at this beauty and we were sold on our winner for Mask of the Week! This medieval-themed Sportmask Razor is jaw-dropping, really. From a thematic point of view, it’s extremely eye-appealing, as numerous phthalo and navy shades create

We’ve had a lot of amazing nominations for Mask of the Week lately, but today’s winner is hands down the most unique mask of them all. Pain Inc Designs was commissioned by Marc Despins, a die-hard Oilers fan, to paint a tribute mask of Dwayne Roloson’s time in Edmonton, but using a Mike Luit style vintage mask.

While covering the Avalanche game on Tuesday night, I got a note from our good friends at InGoal Mag about a goalie in Florida named Joe Humet with a quality mask worthy of our Mask of the Week honors.
