The Goalie Guild is proud to bring goalies of all ages another chance to win a free goalie mask and the design of their dreams! Sponsored by Masked Marvel and SilenceHer Art, our third Medieval Mask Design Contest is hosted over the summer months in anticipation of the 2010-11 NHL season! So join all of us this summer as we embark on another MMDC adventure!

The MMDCIII is simple, yet allows goalies to create a design that truly allows them to create something everlasting and special. With the theme of Mythical Gods and Goddesses, we are looking for entries that incorporate any documented god or goddess from just about any culture and period of history. That means you must have one or more of the mythical gods or goddesses, including any found on this list, as part of the design’s theme.

The essay portion, which must be between 50 and 500 words, can creatively describe the symbolism and theme of the mask in any way you see fit. That means you can simply describe the mask, discuss the theme or tell a short story. It’s totally up to you, just so long as your work is authentic and falls within the guidelines of the MMDCIII theme!

No problem, I hate having to extend dates, but it wouldn’t be much fun if
there were only 4 or 5 submissions to work with haha. We had 20 submissions
for MMDC I , 28 for MMDC II and I am hoping to get over 30 for MMDC III.
Thanks for your support and patience. I will be posting something tonight on
the new-look Mask Guild section. I finally have it all cleaned up.

No worries, just making sure I had the correct time needed to have this done by, been working on my submission. It’s a great thing you all do with these contests, fun to come up with ideas and be creative within a set of guidelines/theme.

We have moved the dates to synch up with MMDC 1. I wasn’t able to pull off
three free contests in one year, so I apologize for that. Every year we will
now have two MMDC’s consistent with the same deadlines. The first one of the
hockey season will run from September to end of December and the second one
will go from January to end of April. Sorry for the confusion, you noticed
this before I had a chance to announce it to anyone.

Was’nt this contest due to end @ the end of Sept.? Did the contest date get moved, or did I totally mis-read something?
